About IGCSE
IGCSE stands for International General Certificate of Secondary Education, the international version of GCSE, taken at ages 14 to 16. Cambridge International created it more than 30 years ago, and it is now the world’s most popular international qualification for this age group. Leading universities and employers accept it worldwide.
Unlike GCSE, which is offered through AQA and Pearson Edexcel, IGCSE is offered through three boards: Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel and OxfordAQA. Cambridge alone offers over 70 subjects in any combination, and each board writes its own syllabus, so topics, command words and mark schemes differ even within the same subject. You can see the subjects we teach at IGCSE.
IGCSE is graded on the 9 to 1 scale used by GCSE, and Cambridge also still offers the older A* to G scale for many subjects. Assessment happens at the end of the second year, so we plan the whole two years around it, matching the exact subject and board your child is entered for rather than teaching a generic mix.
Who IGCSE Is For
IGCSE is the right starting point for students who need a secondary qualification accepted by schools and universities worldwide. These are the learners who fit this stage:
- Students aged 14 to 16 studying an international curriculum
- Learners planning to progress to AS Level, A Level or higher study
- Students who need a strong English-medium academic foundation
- Families relocating between countries mid-way through secondary school
- Families who want live progress reporting, not ad hoc homework help

IGCSE Exam Boards
Choose a board to see the subjects and levels we tutor.

Edexcel
Pearson Edexcel International GCSEs are designed specifically for international learners and sit inside Pearson’s iProgress series for 5 to 19 year-olds. Pearson offers a choice of linear or modular assessment for many subjects, with exam series in May to June and November.
Cambridge
Cambridge International created IGCSE more than 30 years ago and now offers over 70 subjects in any combination. Its standards are aligned with the GCSE taken in England, and assessment takes place at the end of the second year.

OxfordAQA
OxfordAQA is the partnership between AQA and Oxford University Press, offering international qualifications for schools outside the UK. Its International GCSEs are graded across the complete 9 to 1 range.
IGCSE Subjects We Teach
Subject availability varies by board, so we confirm your child’s exact specification before matching a tutor. These are the subjects we teach for IGCSE.
A Teaching Approach Built for IGCSE
Our teaching starts from the board and the specification your child’s school enters them for. Tutors map the two years, decide what to cover each week, and mark work the way Cambridge, Edexcel or OxfordAQA will mark it, so subject knowledge grows alongside exam technique.
Lessons run live, in small groups or one to one, in your local time zone. Regular assessments and marked past papers show what to fix next, and progress is tracked through the year, so nothing important is left to the final few weeks before the exams.
