About AS Level
AS Level is a one-year Level 3 qualification usually taken in Year 12, covering about half the content of a full A Level. It is the year students stop studying ten subjects and start going deep into three or four of them.
In England the two qualifications are now separate. AS results no longer count towards the A Level, which is assessed at the end of two years. Many international schools use a staged route instead, where AS makes up the first half of the A Level and marks can be carried forward under the board’s own rules. Whatever route your child’s school follows, their tutor works to the exact specification they sit, with practice drawn from real past papers.
The jump from GCSE is bigger than it looks. Answers need to be longer and better argued, and far more of the work happens independently between lessons. Your child’s tutor teaches to the board their school enters them for, whether that is AQA or Pearson Edexcel in the UK, or Cambridge International, OxfordAQA and Pearson Edexcel International abroad. AS Level Exam Boards

AQA
AQA is one of the UK's largest exam boards. We cover its AS Level specifications with targeted revision and past-paper practice.
Edexcel
Pearson Edexcel offers UK AS Levels and a modular International AS Level, examined in January, May–June and October each year. We match your child to a tutor who knows the exact units their school enters them for.
Cambridge
Cambridge International AS Level is a one-year qualification covering about half the content of its A Level. It can be taken on its own or staged with the A Level so AS marks count towards the final grade, and exams run in June and November.
OxfordAQA
OxfordAQA is a partnership between Oxford University Press and AQA. Its International AS and A Levels are modular and independently evaluated by UK ENIC as the same standard as Ofqual-accredited UK qualifications.
