About O Level Global Perspectives
O Level Global Perspectives 2069 is a Cambridge International qualification, usually taken at the end of Year 11 by students aged 14 to 16. Cambridge describes it as interdisciplinary, and it is built on skills rather than on a body of content to be memorised. There is one topic list, and it is used by all three components. Candidates take three components and can be awarded grades A* to E.
The shape of the qualification is unusual, and it is worth understanding before anything else. Component 1 is the Written Exam, 1 hour 25 minutes, 70 marks and 35% of the qualification. Component 2 is the Individual Report, 60 marks and 30%, internally set and externally marked. Component 3 is the Team Project, 70 marks and 35%, internally assessed and externally moderated. Two of the three components are coursework rather than exam, and one of those pieces is a team project, which is unlike anything else at Cambridge O Level.
Two things about the assessment catch families out. First, the written exam is a skills exam: Cambridge says plainly that candidates are not assessed on their prior knowledge and understanding of the topic or global issue in the source material, so revising by memorising content misses the point. Second, the Team Project is mostly marked on the individual rather than the team. The Personal Element is worth 45 marks and the Team Element 25, and within the team element ten of the 25 marks are for collaboration, so the individual's own reflective writing is the single biggest thing in Component 3. Good news follows from that: marks from Components 2 and 3 can be carried forward to future series. We work from real past papers, and you can see how our O Level tutoring works.

Cambridge O Level Global Perspectives: The Board We Cover
Cambridge International is the only board offering Cambridge O Level Global Perspectives. We teach 2069 in full, across all three components.
Cambridge
Cambridge O Level Global Perspectives 2069 is untiered, and all candidates take three components and are eligible for grades A* to E, with A* the highest and E the lowest. Component 1 is the Written Exam, a written paper of 1 hour 25 minutes, 70 marks and 35% of the qualification, with four compulsory questions based on source documents provided with the question paper in a separate insert. The sources may include images, and the number of sources may vary from exam to exam. Candidates are assessed on research, analysis and evaluation, and Cambridge states that they are not assessed on prior knowledge of the topic. Component 2 is the Individual Report, 60 marks and 30%, internally set and externally marked. Candidates choose a global issue that divides opinion, devise their own research question and use it as the title, research local and/or national perspectives as well as global perspectives, and write a report of 1500 to 2000 words. Component 3 is the Team Project, 70 marks and 35%, internally assessed and externally moderated. Teams identify a local issue, plan and carry out an action, and produce one Explanation of Research and Planning of 300 to 400 words and one Evidence of Action. Each candidate also writes a Reflective Paper of 750 to 1000 words. The Team Element is worth 25 marks, of which ten are for collaboration, and the Personal Element is worth 45. Three assessment objectives are used: research, analysis and evaluation; reflection; and communication and collaboration. Reflection and collaboration are not assessed in the written exam at all. There is one topic list of 22 topics and it is used by all three components. Marks from Components 2 and 3 can be carried forward to future series. The syllabus sets about 130 guided learning hours. Exams are available in the June series only, and the syllabus says it is not available in all administrative zones; the Cambridge syllabus page states that it is available in zone 4 only, which makes this the most restricted O Level subject we teach. Cambridge also states that private candidates cannot enter for this syllabus, and lists Cambridge IGCSE Global Perspectives 0457 among the qualifications it cannot be taken alongside.
How Centaurus Helps O Level Global Perspectives Students Excel
Coursework Planned Across the Year
Two thirds of this qualification is coursework, so the Individual Report and the Team Project are drafted and reviewed across the year rather than left to the last month.
A Team Project That Still Marks the Individual
The personal element is worth more than the team element, so students learn to write reflectively about their own contribution and their own learning.
The Written Exam Needs No Prior Knowledge
Cambridge does not assess prior knowledge of the topic, so we practise the source-handling and evaluation skills the paper actually rewards.
Research and Reflection Skills
Students learn to justify a personal perspective with evidence and to consider other perspectives objectively, which is what two of the three assessment objectives ask for.
Classes in Your Local Time
