About O Level Business
Cambridge renamed this qualification and gave it a new code. It used to be O Level Business Studies 7115, and it is now O Level Business 7081, for first examination in 2027. The title dropped the word Studies to match Cambridge's AS & A Level Business, and the change is recorded in the syllabus itself.
The reassuring part is the shape of the exams. Both papers keep their names, their length, their marks and their weighting. Paper 1 is Short Answer and Data Response, Paper 2 is Case Study, and each is 1 hour 30 minutes, worth 80 marks and 50% of the qualification. Each paper has four compulsory questions. What did change is inside the questions and the content. The assessment objectives were reworded and reweighted, with application given more weight. On Paper 1 each question now has four parts instead of five. On Paper 2 every part (a) question is now an applied question.
The subject content was revised too: two new operations topics were added, on technology and on sustainable production, digital methods of communication joined the People in business topic, some content was removed, and the syllabus now sets out a list of formulas and ratios for the course. The subject is assessed against four objectives rather than three: knowledge and understanding, application, analysis, and evaluation. There is no coursework. This course suits students taking Cambridge O Level Business, whether they sit the current 7081 syllabus or the 7115 syllabus for a 2026 exam.

Cambridge O Level Business: The Board We Cover
Cambridge International is the only board offering Cambridge O Level Business. We teach both the current 7081 syllabus and the outgoing Business Studies 7115 syllabus.
Cambridge
Cambridge O Level Business 7081 is untiered. All candidates take two papers and are eligible for grades A* to E, with A* the highest and E the lowest. Paper 1 is Short Answer and Data Response, and Paper 2 is Case Study, and each is a written paper of 1 hour 30 minutes and 80 marks, carrying 50% of the qualification. Both papers consist of four compulsory questions based on all the subject content, and candidates answer all questions. Paper 1 uses stimulus material, which may include tables, graphs and images. Paper 2 is based on a case study provided as an insert with the paper, with appendices presenting data such as tables, graphs, newspaper extracts and advertisements. Both papers are externally assessed and both assess four assessment objectives: knowledge and understanding, application, analysis, and evaluation. There is no coursework. The subject content has six sections and twenty-nine sub-topics, and the syllabus sets out a list of formulas and ratios to support the course. The syllabus sets about 130 guided learning hours, and private candidates can enter. Exams are available in the June and November series. Cambridge states that this syllabus is not available in all administrative zones, and advises checking the syllabus page for your zone. The qualification was previously Cambridge O Level Business Studies 7115, and that code is examined for the last time in 2026.
